Fiberglass or Urethane...which is better?
My '74 coupe has the orig. urethane rear bumper on it and it is starting to crack. I'm wondering which is a better way to go when I replace it. Which is better?

Aaah, the catch-22...
Urethane:
- Pros: Original (OEM) style and flexible if hit
- Cons: Sag after time
Fiberglass:
- Pros: Won't sag or warp
- Cons: Not original (OEM), and require more work if hit

Is there a way to fix the cracks? Or is it just time to get a new one. My front bumper is cracked pretty badly and my rear bumper has spider web looking cracks in the paint just above all the light holes.

First they start to crack and then they disintegrate. All those years exposed to the elements causes this. I replaced mine with True-Flex bumpers.

I had the same problem with my 74. I replaced both front and rear with fiberglass and have never regretted it. The paint matches the body exactly and no more spider webs or cracks. Just don't bump anything. Go to my website to see the results.
