ZO6 WHEELS
Hey everyone, will the Z06 rims fit a 1970? What is needed? I know the Camaro's have a smaller rim that looks like the Z06. I think it is for the SS. I am torn between NEW FEATURES and hotrod pure horsepower...aughhhhh. I am trying to satify both and am looking for ideas..... this is tooo damn hard.

There are adaptors available from Vette Brakes and Products to fit the Z-06 and any late-model camaro and vette rims on your older vette. I think SLP Performance also has some nice rims to chose from. :flag

Ask around at a few machine shops what it would cost for a 2"+ spacer! I know you can fit the 9.5" wheels on a c3 with a 2" spacer but the Z06 wheels on the back are 10.5" wide. I think the width is more of a issue than the backspace is. They may stick out too far even if you get as much backspace as you can. Also note, I think the 2001 wheels are stronger because they're forged rather than the 2002's casting. Can't confirm that though, but anything you read anywhere always says that forging is stronger that cast espically when it comes to engine internals.

A fellow forum member uses spacers from Vette Brakes. I think he has 2 inch in the rear to mount 11X17 wheels. You kind of have to end up with 4.5 inches of back spacing max.
