Default Rattle in back driving me completely nuts!

I'm gonna chase down a rattle today, and need help trying to find out where it is. It usually occurs at around 1000-2000 rpm, in any gear, but most noticeable when the car isn't rolling. It's very loud, louder than the engine/exhaust at this speed. It does however sound like it's coming from inside the car, and very close behind me(the driver).
Any ideas what to hunt down?

I'd look real close at the clearances around your exhaust pipes.

When I first bought mine it had a similar issue and my left exhaust was just barely tapping my spring retainer plate. Good Luck!! :yesnod:

Sounds like an excuse to convert to dual exhaust... :) :) :) :)

On mine I had too remove the storage panel behind the passager seat, to find the tire jack and stuff was sitting there rolling around.

Check the condition of the rubber on the exhaust pipe hangers.

Steve-

Have you checked your gas lid and bezel for this noise? Had to adjust mine with the cold weather-sounded like tailpipe to frame noise around 1500-2000 rpm level. Good luck.

Got to be the gas lid. Tape it down and go for a ride.

I guess it depends on your year, but I had a similar rattle, mine proved to be the black plastic shield rattling against the window. Might also look at your back luggage shade if you have one.

Just like Tominator, I had a rattling that was bothering me pretty bad and it ended up being the jack in the storage compartment.
