HELL YES!!! I and my Vette don't live at the same address, so sometimes I go there to her garage, just to stare at her for some time...

too often, always turn the light on as I pass thru the garage. Can't put the car cover on in the garage... I hate how dusty it gets, but I wanna look. MJ

"Hello, my name is David, and I stare at my Vette any chance I get."
Is there a twelve step program for people like us, 'cause if there is, I want to be as far away from it as possible! :smash:

Re: Do you ever... (30yr Wait)
I really thought there was something wrong with me
Who else would walk all the way out to the garage and just stare at the car?
I do it all the time and always feel kinda dumb afterwards. Thanks for this post!
Now I have to decide if it's normal OR that we are all insane!

Do I ever... not only do I stare at it on my way into the garage, I recently installed a mirror in the garage so I can see it as I leave the garage!!! Sometimes I'm not sure what I enjoy the most, driving it or looking at it!

Of course, I don't think I've ever walked away from the vette without looking back. I like it when I take it to work on a warm sunny day with all the shop doors open so I can look at it while I'm working at the desk. Plus it drives my boss nuts when people come in and ask if the Stingray outside is his, when they don't ask about his 90 vette parked beside it.

Here is a view of my recliner and the direction it faces. :D
Actually the recliner broke and my new couch is too big for a new recliner to fit so I just put the POS recliner here until I haul it off. The back has to rest up against a wall so it's not much of a recliner now. :D

Yes. People keep catching me at work standing in the parking lot. Sometimes close, sometimes far off from different angles.

Re: Do you ever... (ORVette)
All the time. There's no sort of problem with you! It's one of the many great things about owning one. I wish I had an office with a window so I could stare out at it whenever I felt the need.
Also...how many of you will just sit in the car in the garage and imagine yourself eating Mustangs and Mopars? I'll be doing this a lot this winter when the weather gets bad. It's fun to just sit in the car and stare out at those lucious fenders swooping up like wings of an Eagle! I love it!!

Re: Do you ever... (Jvette73)
Fellow C3 aficionados;
Let me take a moment here and put your minds at rest. It's not our fault that we're inclined to stare at our C3s. We're hard-wired to do it. As you all know, a Corvette is named after a ship, specifically a fast, handsome sailing ship. As a shipwright could tell you, there is a process in the design and construction of the hull of a ship called "fairing a line." This entails creating a hull and prow shape - a "fair" line (fair in the same way that a lovely woman is fair) that describes their form - that is pleasing to the eye. To do it well is truly an art form. It's a shape that has enthralled and entranced men throughout recorded history. The next time you're staring at your car, pay special attention to the line of the front fender and the rear quarter panel and the amazing way it flows into the rest of the body. The fact that it appeals to us so strongly is simply an indication that we have an extraordinary eye for beauty. At least, that's what I always tell my wife when she catches me at it. I, too, leave the car cover off, even though I hate to see the car get dusty. Even that's not too bad, until my wife lets the cat in the shop, and before I can stop him he jumps up on the car and walks around on the hood.

Re: Do you ever... (Jvette73)
Youre not alone. I broker down and bought myself a rolling chair for the garage so I could manuever freely into a different position for gazing without having to wear out my legs during one of my entranced visits to the garage.
First comes the " contant staring "
Then comes the " I'll just do this little thing to it "
Then comes the dreaded " While I am doing this I'll just do this "
Then you had better enjoy staring because next thing you know your into a frame off restoration and all you can do is stare. Your car does not run and your to broke to afford to do anything else :yesnod:
