cheap seatbelt replacement.... heres what works!!
if your vette doesnt have any seatbelts (like mine) and you dont wanna spend $2389032809289203 dollars on belts..... then check this out...
got the REAR set from a 93 and up camaro (98 to be exact...)
those shoulder pieces mount on the seat... so it was necessary to pick up ones that better matched the corvette method of bolting it to the rear top fender piece.... i found the shoulder harness from a fiero fits in there quite nicely!!!
rear seatbelts from a 98 camaro $75 smackers for a pair
shoulder harnesses (pass thru's) from a fiero $8 smackers for a pair
retractor bolts new GM part # 355344 (this part # changed from AIM part #) $15 bux for 2
shoulder harness bolts (u can use the fiero bolts...torx head but it fits...) but i already ordered these bolts from GM... part # 342221 #11 bux for 2...
not too bad at all!!

Re: cheap seatbelt replacement.... heres what works!! (daily_driver)
whew!! finally found the post...
yes hes the one that told me about the 93 and up camaro...
but i still wanted to post and tell about the fiero peices...
becuase the camaro belts come with an ugly harness which requires replacement......(bolts onto seat.,..)
obviously if you have a thru seat system in your vette (early years??) then you just need to remove that peice..
but if you have a 76 or similiar setup like mine, you bolt the shoulder harness passthru to the rear upper quarter panel peice....
so where to get those peices cheap??
fieros!!!
theres tons of them in the junkyard...

Re: cheap seatbelt replacement.... heres what works!! (daily_driver)
I think I can beat that one (in price at least). I bought two rear seat belts that came off a GEO Storm from a junk yard for $15.00 each. I died them black using $2.50 (or so) in Rit Dye. Then, after some slight modifications to the retractors, and making the belt receivers fit, I mounted them to my 73 (through the seats of course). I made a bracket that bolts to the floor where the bracket was that routed the lower seat belt, and bolted the end of the new belts to it.
Works great, and I'm only in it about $40.00.
