Rear leaf spring questions..
Hi all..
I am finaly getting clost to putting the body back on my 78'.. But I have a few more things to do first..
I have a question about the rear spring..
1) The center plate that holds the spring in place is warped pretty bad, I am going to buy a new one.. My 78' has a 2 1/4" 7 leaf spring in it, but most of the catalogs only list the plates by 63-77 and 78-79 (But I thought most of the Late 78's and 79's had the 2 1/2 spring? Should I just by the 1977' plate?
2) Its been a long time since I pulled my 78' apart  Are there any
rubber pads that I should have on top and below the center of the leaf?
Thanks much!

Re: Rear leaf spring questions.. (Bans25)
Hey Bans,
Check around... some of the aftermarket catalogues like Ecklers and Zip sell the plate for 2-1\4 spring. Call them if you have any doubt.
Sounds like that plate is getting a lot of stress... might be a good time to replace the rear cover too.... and while you're at it... some new bolts.
Good Luck.
