Does anyone still have the "air-plane taking off" sound?
I've noticed with the stock exhaust that all I can hear is the fan blowing over the motor. Is this true for most C3's or is it just the 80's? I can't wait to get my exhaust in but I think the fan will drowned out some of the sound from the mufflers.

My 79 does the same thing, when it's hot out the clutch fan is engaged alot of the time and it makes alot of noise. I have duals on mine and it is alittle louder than stock but you can still hear the fan when it kicks on! :(

I have noticed that before. But for some reason whenever I installed the side pipes, the sound seemingly disappeared :D

Went to an airshow once. After the show I noticed my engine sounded like half a corsair engine starting up.
Sidepipes too so you get the stereo affect from the banks.

If its extremely loud, the clutch could be bad....mine is shot now and sounds like poopie....sucking in all that air with the RPMs
Just check it....if it turns really loose, its shot....if ya cant turn it at all, it shot.
