getting the zz4, now what? any hints or suggestions???which carb?etc.
Can anyone share any hints as to what not to do or ''while you're at it stuff". Torque converters and the like. What other parts will I need? I have a 77 350th with 3:70 gears. Which carb is best and practical? Ps I read bseerys web page and found it extrmely helpfull. Any other ideas? thanks

The Holley 600 vac sec works good for me...good little carb. Jet it up a size or two and add the secondary metering plate. Thats what i've done anyway. However, many people lean towards the 750vac sec. 600cfm will take a 350 to 6000rpm easy.
Also it handles the lightest secondary spring in the kit. Earlier opening that way.
If you like to race alot, I would recomend the Holley 650DP

I had heard that a holley 750 dp might be my best bet. I wonder if anyone has used this.

I'm using a 750 DP on my car. Don't have a ZZ4 but it is close. With the 3.70 gears you should not have a problem. Is the car a daily driver or a weekend toy. Daily driver a vacuum secondary might give you slightly better driveability. The DP carbs are pretty hard on gas also

The car is used as a weekend toy only. When you say the holley dp is hard on gas, do you mean the mileage isn't so great? If so, that isn't a concern of mine. I stictly play with car occaionally, just rodding around on back roads having fun at w.o.t.

Your ZZ4 should work exceptionally well with the 750 DP. If you want really good advice concerning your choice, talk to Scott at http://www.salleechevrolet.com. He has very good technical knowledge regarding this subject and has help me out a lot. I have this carb on my ZZ4 and am very happy. I had to jet it down a bit for Salt Lake Citys altitude, but that's it. It's true that fuel mileage will suffer a bit, but It doesn't have to be terrible if you drive sensibly. I still have the 3.08s in my car, wish I had your 3.70s. Good Luck!!

andre77, I meant mileage. I don't care much about it either so it does not matter. I calculated 1 time and I got about 8 mpg. So what it was fun. The 750 Dp should work great. I know there is still some more power in mine if jetted correctly. I am thinking about putting an O2 sensor in my collectors to jet it right. Should be worth some more power
