How do you reach the guage light for the turn signal?
Need to replace one of the guage lights for the turn signal. Have all of bezel covering off, but the light is down inside a small tube-like area! Fingers won't fit down there. How to pull, much less, put replacement in!

Just looking through old posts as I can no longer veiw from work  and saw this.
Am I correct in thinking you have an '82? If so, which way are you "going in"? I had a turn signal bulkb fail on my 78, which I think is the same dash layout? I took the speedo/tach panel out and replaced the bulbs from behind. They fitted into a plastic holder that turned and locked into the circuit board. If you have a different set-up on an 82, my apologies, as this is probably no help!
Hope it works out.

Beginning to think I do have to take the entire panel out. Other guage lights were accessible from front, but those - must be only from back. Will look again when my tach board comes. Don't want to take everything apart again just for that, when have to do next weekend for tach board.

Ah ha! At least you know tthe bulb part may be easier than ypu though! I got the "cluster" out pretty easily, just the screws to the "glass", then the actuall two gauges. I lowered the tilt tele only, didn't get into dropping the column or anything. But, I had released the speedo cable first, so had to take off the little panel at the bottom of the dash, and the heater tube that runs across. Apart from that, it went OK (and I was working in a dark garage with no power at the time!)
Is the tach playing up? What symptoms? Mine was acting like it needed to "warm up", working after about 10 miles. It turned out to be a problem with the filter in the line at the distributor end.
Let me know how you get on.

My tach just died all of a sudden. Sits at zero. Checked all connections. Nothing loose. When had it out last week, one spot on board was dark, so hope it is the board, which I have on order.

I'll be darned - now it is working again. Too busy with Christmas, etc. to dig deeper into dash, so will just see how long it keeps working. Guess there is a God afterall :yesnod:

The bulb just pressure fits in Larry. I had one out just like yours and it turned out to be the flimsy plastic gauge connection that is like a printed circuit board. It runs power and ground to all those light around the speedo and tack. The whole socket for the light twists and comes out of the unit as well. Good idea to just replace every one of those lights while you are in there. By the way, are you here in Houston, thought I saw you on the Crossfire Injection Vault.

Yup, here in Houston. Use to be on the Crossfire Forum, but asked to withdraw over a dispute with moderators. Now they consider my in the "banned" status. Go figure. Can't even surf the site anymore - at least not officially :blueangel:
