What IPOD adapter works with 2006 Class II NAV Touchscreen
What IPOD adapter works with 2006 Class II NAV Touchscreen?
The Class II NAV Touchscreen has only one column of hard buttons down the left side of the NAV/Touchscreen.
I have tried the Scosche AXIPCL2. It DOES (edit) work with this audio unit.
(The first unit was defective. The AXIPCLII does work. Read through thread for features , limits, etc.)
If you know of units that work, please post, but also tell us if it can navigate more than just playlists -i.e. album, artist, genre also. Can it run the iPod manually? Does it have an AUX input too? And if it connects to the back of the radio or the XM unit (XM connection is a 15 minute breeze, radio connect is a longer process).
Unit name
Connect to XM
Browse by album, artist, genre or limited to playlist
Manual iPod control
Aux input
Thanks. (I need to chnage my signature to C4 & C6 both 6sp verts).

This is what I am using too. It works well....I just wish there was a way to shuffle songs from playlists. I set up my different artists as playlists. I am able to select shuffle from my "songs" list directly from my iphone, however once I go to a category "artist" I can't shuffle any longer without unplugging my iphone and selecting "shuffle" from my songs list. On a good note....It was a pretty easy install.
PS..I just installed a Parrot 3200 LS hands free bluetooth kit and I am very impressed with this unit. There is a slight "wind" noise on my end on the conversation. I tried various positions with the mic, but can't seem to get rid of it. The slight "wind" noise isn't bad enough to the receiving party to make it a unpleasant conversation, so I will just live with it. All-in-all it is the best hands free device by far I have used.

IPOD and Class II NAV - Let's try again, this time with details
Previous responses were of no help. How about some details this time?
What unit do you use?
Does it work with a 2006 Class II NAV Touchscreen?
Does it connect to the XM or the main radio?
Can you browse by album, artist, genre or limited to playlist?
Does it allow manual iPod control?
Does it have an Aux input?

Scosche AXIPCL2 for Class II w/ NAV
Scosche sent me a second unit to try. This one works with the Class II NAV touchscreen (one column of hard buttons on the left).
The unit allows browsing by artist, album, genre & playlist.
The iPod can be controlled through the touchscreen AND through the iPod. That's a nice touch.
It also adds a separate AUX-in.
It connects to the XM. In my vert, this was a 15 minute, very simple install. The XM is behind the waterfall (behind seats). Remove 2 screws and 3 plastic fasteners and there's the XM.
I'm not sure if the first unit was defective, or if Scosche re-programmed the 2nd unit. So if you order one be sure to specify the type of radio you have.

So if I am reading this right it sounds like this unit works better than the "Lockpick" as far as user interface is concerned. If this is true can anyone do a direct comparison write up on what exactly the differences are and maybe snap a shot of the on screen appearance of the unit in Ipod mode?

AXIPCL2 is the Scosche part number
The part number is AXIPCL2. You can find this online at various resellers or directly from Scosche ($169).
http://www.scosche.com/products/productID/1451
I would contact Sosche directly, because I am not sure whether the unit I have is stock or if it has been re-programmed for the Class II NAV touchscreen. The first unit did not work. Then Scosche tried a unit on a C6 in CA and agreed it didn't work. THEN, another AXIPCL2 unit was delivered yesterday so I thought I would give it a try and it works. I have noticed today a problem with using the seek button to move fwd/back through songs, but I can also do that from the iPod, even when in head unit control mode. I need to call them. None of these companies are known for communication skills.

That's why I started this thread - to find out what features the different brands have. But all I got was a bunch of "ME TOO" replies.

2. Yes
3. Connects to the XM module
4. You only can browse/select play lists
5. No, once connected you can only control it from your radio/NAV screen
6. Yes, there is an auxiliary connector on the lockpick, but not sure what you would use it for.
Can't tell you anything about any other adaptors because I have not used them. As far as the lockpick goes, check the website at coastaletech. It works as advertised. I would prefer something with more functions, but this unit is fairly inexpensive and extremely easy and quick to install. I chose it because a lot of other folks use it and all have said it works as advertised.
