The amazing, deep, lustrous, mirrorlike shine......
Of Turtle Wax !!!!!
I dont mind seeing these pics of Zainoed C5s (or other year vettes), but the picture alone doesnt prove squat about anything, except maybe your high quality clear coat paint. BTW, This is a FIVE YEAR OLD Lexus, and we all know BLACK is the toughest color, and this car is frequently left OUTSIDE in the elements. In fact, I washed and waxed today because the friggin landscapers blew leaves and dust all over it yesterday!!! And I do use Zaino on the vette. :)

I guess cars can look good without Zaino!
I remember a couple of years back at a car show I was at there was a 30s or 40s Ford rod(couldn't tell you exactly what it was, except that it was a Ford). I remember noticing the deep kind of shine it had and was talking to the owner about it, and he told me that all he ever used was Pledge furniture polish right out of the can. He said it didn't leave any of the white residues waxing does and was easy to use. Looked slick!

As I understand it, waxes will give a great shine...for a short period of time.
Zaino gives the lasting shine.
Great tree reflection, btw! :yesnod:

Mark, nice shine! I've used Zaino on both my silver Vette and Black truck. Frankly I can't tell the difference between it and the other waxes I've used (and I've got the whole $80 package...) Love that turtlewax :)

You are doing something wrong if you can't tell a difference. Especially after a few days of being in the weather. Smoothness of the paint should be a good indicator. Plenty of comparison tests have been done, I doubt you found something they didn't. No flame intended.... and don't call me Frankly ;)

Mark, I don't know if you recall the car parked next to me at the Madison show but Joe, Ed and myself commented on what a great shine and deep color it had. Joe felt it was Zainoed, I thought Meguiar's, turns out it was Turtle waxed.......go figure. ;)

Used Dawn, then clay, then Zaino 1, then the spray (6?), then 5, then another coat of 1. Tried it twice so far. Just haven't been impressed for the time, effort, and money spent, even on brand new black paint. I even ruined an brand new, expensive white cotton towel! ;)
It seems that every group of auto enthusiasts has their one perfect wax, and Zaino is ours :jester

Looks great Mark. I love living in this area but the damn leaves are getting to me every year. I just paid the landscaper $510 for their removal. That would have bought some nice corvette parts.
Did you ever try 3M's paste wax? I have a black car and it shines and beads great also with this product. Turtle wax makes good products.

Don't get me started on the zaino :mad :mad :mad
If you get the chance, Try some Formula 113.
It will make oxidized paint come back to life. unlike z
And the shine is really nice

I agree. I have the same results as you, MNJack, when I use Turtle Wax 2001 on the 'Vette. Shines like a mirror- and it's only one step. Everybody assumes that I use Zaino and slaved for 3 days over it!

Looks Great!! But I like Meguiars Deep Crystal polish, then wax. I have never been disappointed with the results and with the extra time and money I can enjoy a couple of brews!

For what you paid for that Toyota it should shine great after 5 years. My '82 Vette used to get The Wax Shoppe Super Glaze. Then I tried Zaino! Wow, people walk by the house and comment that it looks brand new. It is the original 20 year old paint, by the way. Just wish I could afford a digital camera to show you. (Perhaps I need to get a landscaper job as someone else mentioned, at those outrageous leaf hauling prices I could just repaint the car when it gets dirty)Then again, I can't get my scanned photos to show up anyhow??? :p:

Car looks great.
Shine all depends on paint. It must be flat. No orangepeel. The slicker the paint, the better the shine.

I use either Liquid Glass or Meguires on my '81 Vette and Harley. For my every day drivers ('92 Yukon, '97 Lexus) I use 'Once a Year Polish' in the bright orange bottle. Surprisingly, this stuff was top rated by Consumer Reports. The shine is as good as more expensive polishes. But more importantly, the protection lasts a very long time. And that's important since I live in the snow belt where the roads are salted.
I've never seen Zaino in stores. It seems effective but over-priced based on the comments above. Where's Zaino sold?
