Got to see my freshly painted 75 today
I got to see my 75 painted today. I stayied with #74 Dark Red and I'm glad I did. The painter said that it is real close to what you would call Brandywine by today standards. It looks great. Will be ready to pick up tomorrow afternoon. Painter said to wait at least a week before I start installing all of the trim to let the paint harden up. Will have some pic's to post this weekend.

Painter charged me $800. That was to fix one spot on the body that he thought could be alittle better than what I had done, and 3 coats of color and 4 coats of clear and buff. That's inculding jams. I worked 3 months on getting it ready. DP50, Prima K36, PPG DBU color and PPG Concept clear.

You are truly an inspiration to me Paul 75 L82, just put my 75 in the garage for the winter and will start preping her for a full repaint to her original color, bright yellow, starting in jan., 2002. I have been working on all the mechanics since I bought her 2 years ago. she just turned 90 thou. on the odometer.
the next step is painting.
the previous owner painted it ruby red. the main reason i bought her was the fact that her original color was bright yellow. congratulation on your final approach in completing your project. I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I've got to tell you guys that it was some kind of good feeling to walk up and see my vette look so good. For 3 months i stripped and finely sanded each and every little spot on this body. The car hasn't even been buffed at that time and the reflection was unbelievable. So tomorrow afternoon I'll slap a couple of taillight on and screw on the tag and it will be back at home. Heck my daughter's away at college and I don't worry, but my vette has been gone 8 days and I can't wait to get her home. Car Shows here I come after the first of the year.

Glad to hear yours is just about done. I went to the shop last week and the hood is off, all kinds of dust is all over my beautifully detailed engine. I did notice that the bonding strips were deep v'd and refilled with fiberglass so I presume the guy is doing a decent job. He just painted his 69 dark green and it looks terrific. He has an old GOOD HUMOR truck painted pearl white with flames on the front. A blower sticking out of the hood and slicks on the back. 850HP!!!! I can't wait for it to be done also. The weather up here in Jersey has been just great. I wish I had the car to enjoy this time.
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!
