Default Leaky transmission

Looks like my transmission is leaking badly so I'm planning on rebuilding it. At first I was wanting to keep it stock but now I'm feeling the need to make some fun with it, what would be the ideal gear ratio to get more low end with a mostly stock motor?

Default Re: Leaky transmission (spiru)

If you're interested in saving money and the transmission is otherwise working fine, consider this. Whenever a transmission leaks from someplace other than the pan gasket, there's a good chance that it may be leaking from the front pump seal. The only hassle with this is removing the transmission from the engine, which you plan on doing anyway. I did this on my '85 Camaro with a TH700. The seal is only a $4 part.

Whenever I pull a tranny in the future, I'll always replace this seal, even if it's not leaking - just for preventative maintenance.
