Default Need Flat-bed transport: Tampa, Fl. to Findlay, OH

All,

It's decided: I'm selling the mansion in Florida and buying a 3-5 acre 'homestead' in Ohio. Now gotta work out the logistics to move the vettes. I'm gonna send the new one flat-bed to Ohio with other on trailer behind a large u-haul.

Transporters of high repute requested!

Sorry to hear that man.

Email ken@thevettenet.com about transporters. He has dealt with many.

I used Horseless Carrige Carriers to gey my model T from Texas to Garner NC. Transport was in an enclosed trailer, it wasn't cheap but they did a great job and they had several other classics on the truck. The driver was very professional and handled the cars very carefully, around 900.00 if I remeber correctly.

Good luck

An enclosed trailer will cost more money but it is definitely worth it. I had my vette shipped from Ohio to NJ on an open double-decker car transport. The vette was sitting underneath an SUV that was leaking oil/fluids the entire trip. Needless to say I was not happy, and had a nice clean up job to do when it arrived. :mad

Well Ted, if you're super serious about this, here is your "ULTIMATE" idea!!! Next month in Jan at the Orlando NCRS/Florida Corvette show(Jan 24-27)there will be several, several people buying and selling Corvettes down there, such as ProTeam, Lookers, Shaeffer Auto Investments(ne corner of Indiana, near Ohio). I know many return back to this area with empty trailers, car haulers, etc. that you "MAY" be able to hook up with since they are returning to Ohio anyways. One of them may do it for a "great rate". If you have it shipped by Road Scholar, Intercity, Horseless Carriage one way, you're probably looking at $900 to $1400 to do this. :yesnod:

Horseless Carriage brought my '69 up from Orlando,Fla to NJ 3 years ago in an enclosed trailer for $775.
I was happy with their service.
In fact their office and/or huge warehouse is about 8 miles from me.

Joe, that was a good rate(3 yrs ago)but since then and now I believe diesel fuel is up over $.60 per gallon more, I'd bet the rate is quite a bit more. Got a rate two years ago and 6 months ago on shipping my '74 to Galveston and it was $1200 twos years ago. 8 month's ago it was $2100.

Paul that's true.
Maybe the fact that their in Paterson,NJ off Rt 80 about 8 miles from me helped me get a good rate.
I really don't know but they were recommended to me by other collector car people.
