How do you install new air dam foam?
The foam air dam on each side of my radiator is cracked and brittle. I bought replacements, but the original dam appears to have a big rivet attaching it to the front crossmember. I have a 77 L48. How have you guys installed new air dam foam?

Re: How do you install new air dam foam? (Rhys)
Thanks, Rhys. My 77 AIM has similar pictures, but the pictures do not show a metal stud or rivet holding the air dam in place. I don't see it in my AIM or your pictures. I don't mind tearing the old dam up to get a closer examination of the rivet, but I thought that I better consult the forum before I start ripping into something. Anyone else have experience replacing the air dam?

Mine does have a metal-like pin that holds the two rectangular pieces in place. In my new radiator support though, only one hole was big enough.

You need to order new clips to install the foam. I also took the crappy double stick tape off the foam and used a thin film of black RTV sealant to hold the foam in place. Worked great.
