Big block purchase help
I have a chance to buy a 454 motor complete with Merlin heads, steel crank, hydrallic cam with roller rockers. It is a 2 piece rear main style. He wants $1500 for it complete, has it on a engine stand now, said it runs strong, about 450- 475hp. What do you guys think? Thanks for the help!!!

That's a good deal. You could never build one for that. It would be a good idea to pull the plugs to see if any of them are oiling and do a leak-down test; far easier to correct now than when it's in the car. :cheers:
