Evidently the owner needs the cash.
Some personal thing going on.
Seems like a super pick up for someone.

If I had the bucks laying around I would pick that sucker up. NCRS Bowtie and Bloomington Benchmark  for $17,000.
Anyone want to make me a loan????

I don't know, to me a true "bowtie" car would be a curse. Unless you really enjoy showing the car at NCRS meets what can you do with it? And once you earn the award, what do you do with it then? (Obvious answer, you sell it !!). You can barely drive the car without destroying its value, not sure if you can work on it at all, and you sure can't mod it. According to my limited understanding of bowtie judging criteria, you can jeopardize the car's status simply by removing an original part for cleaning and then reinstalling it. I think it is wonderful that preserved examples of these cars still exist, but I wouldnt want to own one. MJ

Mark I would think the asking price of $16900 is a great deal for it just being a low mileage BB with a/c.
I'd drive it!
Plus one can sell it for a nice profit.
I'm surprised the seller didn't know anyone locally that would buy it.
At that price it should have sold without an ad.

Hey guys, I got a buddy who already has several 72BBs to look at this car and he bought it today! He was looking for a nicely optioned 73BB and it turns out that this car was exactly as advertised! Carrboro is just west of Raleigh. Thanks to 69r for posting it in the first place; I can't wait to get over there and take a look at it! Anyone know if the Elkhart green with green leather is a rare combo for 73?

Ah then, it must be black; in the pics the interior looked like dark green. Again, I haven't seen it yet. This guy and his dad already have 72BB NCRS cars like this one (a 1700 mi survivor and a just completed frame-off) that they show and other C3s that they use for daily drivers. Thx Tom for the reply! :flag

Re: Nice BB '73 for sale at a great price (MNJack)
MNJack, great memory, I used to go by "LuvBBlocks". Thanks to Mark, we went and bought this car on the spot. It is exactly what the owner stated it was, fully documented down to the orig. bill of sale. I drove the car back 25 miles or so, and it drove out better than some of the C4's I have had. The pictures also don't do the car justice, the original paint on the car is incredible. I just got back from showing the car to several members (one of which is Mark) so he will probably come on and state something about the car. Definitely a thing of "being at the right place at the right time".
We are thinking about taking the car to Orlando in January for the NCRS show.

Re: Nice BB '73 for sale at a great price (RLH)
RLH, nice pick-up!!! Joe (69er) called me about the car when it first came up for sale and I was very tempted to check it out, but I'm glad it went to someone on the forum who can appreciate what the car is. Hope you bring it to Orlando. I'll be there and would enjoy seeing it. :)
Good luck with it.
