National Corvette Museum Hosts Olympic Torch
Relay Festivities
The National Corvette Museum is proud to announce a special collaboration of
festivities taking place at the Museum on December 16th for the Salt Lake
2002 Olympic Torch Relay. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. CT, the relay will make
its way through Bowling Green on its journey of over 13,500 miles to bring
the spirit of the torch to many cities and states throughout the U.S.
Planned activities at the Museum will kick-off at 9:30 a.m. with Chevrolet
interactive virtual reality games, special Chevrolet cars on display, a
Coca-Cola display and much more. A non-denominational church service is
scheduled in the Museum's Chevrolet Theater from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Outdoor stage activities will include the Western Kentucky University
Cheerleaders and Dance Team. Many local dignitaries will be in attendance,
along with Boys & Girls Club representatives, art contest winners and more.
The Olympic Torch Relay will arrive at the Museum at approximately 11:30
a.m. CT. There is no charge to participate in these activities and to
witness the passing of the Olympic Torch. A special Museum admission rate
of $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children will be offered to those
attending the festivities. "We are ecstatic about hosting the 2002 Olympic
Torch Relay festivities at the Museum," stated NCM Events Coordinator
Jennifer Hohman. "To even be considered as a stop-over for the relay is an
accomplishment in itself. We encourage everyone to join us for the grand
event."
Additional information on the Olympic Torch Relay event is available by
calling the Museum at (800)53-VETTE.
