**Bolt on LS3: New best 11.59 @ 121.96 MPH**
While it was not the private track day I've been waiting for, that has been delayed a while, I did get out to Famosa for a test and tune day. Our private rental is next Sunday, but there is a 60% chance of rain, so I braved the crowds today...
I ran a new best of 11.59 at 121.96. It was sixty and sunny out! I recenty got a new set of MT Drs, 315/30/18s that hooked up pretty well. I still need to get used to them, but a I ran a few 1.8 60 fts.
I was going for 390 gears, but long story short, I now have 410s. I've included some video which I think shows why the 410s and the Z51 may not be the best combo. I only picked up 3 to 4 tenths between my gears, DRs and better DA today. I think the 410s and the Z51 may put you too high in the RPM band, and out of peak torque. They do feel quicker, but did not translate into any real quicker times...
Here is a dyno pull from last night, after the gears and another tweak from Charlie. If you look at the video where I show the speedo, you can see I only drop back to around 5K when I shift, which is above peak Torque.
Anyway, just glad to hit my predicted mark of 11.5s!!!
A huge THANK YOU to Charlie at RPM Motors for all his help with this bolt on LS3 project!!!
The car pulls REAL hard and drives as smooth as a Caddy!!!
Since I dought this will make it onto the C6 list, I took the liberty of placing it there myself. This run puts me in the #5 spot on ET, and the #1 spot as far as MPH!!!I'm a paying member on this board, which last I checked was open to all corvette owners, providing they follow da rules!!
Here's a short video of 2 slower runs, missed the faster one.
Here's the timeslip on the best run.
Here's a shot of the MT DRs on the car.
JB
P.S. I just heard that the DA dropped at the end of the day, and if I stayed, and had a good run, I would have had a better time and MPH!! If my Aunt had a d... she'd be and uncle...

Wow, that is fast! I wonder what it would do on non drag tires (I.E. A street setup)?
Excellent video btw. I loved the speedo shot!

On a very well prepped track with a bunch of practice runs at a private track day a few months back, I went 11.83 at 119.94 on runflats. This was before the gears...
I have also run 124.4 MPH at 11.9s on street tires at a very poorly prepped but decent DA track.

Nice runs man.
That may be so but isn't part of the beauty of having a manual trans being able to shift at any RPM you choose?
With traction (which you certainly now have on those M/Ts) the 4.10s should really be getting ya up there sooner and a little short shifting should keep ya where ya want to be throughout the pass. It was also your first time out on the new additions though so there could be more in it next time out.

All very true, except if I short shift too much, I'll run out of gear in forth before I cross the line.
It was very crowed there today, and I only got a few passes, so more practice with this setup should yield better results!

Congrats on the numbers You and I both had identical times 11.85 @ 122, and Im afraid I have the same feeling about the statement below

Very nice times. Are you still running race gas w/ a race gas tune at the track are were these numbers on pump gas alone? Great numbers either way, its just tough to compare as most don`t run a Torco mix.
I also agree w/ ya on the z51 mn6. 3:90`s for them and 4:10`s for all the other mn6`s. Unless you switch to taller tires of course.

Nice job man! I wish Sac prepped like a real track every T&T. Great times especially for Famoso!
100% Agree

Great times! I ran a 11.59@121 myself Sat. Nite - we'd be a great race! But I had to put in a cam to get there.
Do you have to shift to 5th with 4.10's in the 1/4?
