Default Engine carpment cover? Has anyone done this?

I went to a grand opening of a store hear in St. Louis, they do alot of car audio. They had several cars out front that was from places like Pioneer and Kenwood and such. The Kenwood car was totaly kewl, and they did something that I had never seen before. What they had was, in the engine carpartment, they made a metal peice that fit just inside the hood, and it covered up everything but the air intake. It acually went under the air intake and all you saw was a round air intake and filter that was chrome. Everything else was black and painted to match the car. It was kewl looking as you did'ent see any of the wires, tubes or hoses. They said that it took about 10 screws to remove it if they had to work on it, but it was'ent bad.

Has anyone done this to a vett? Any pics would be nice ? How much does it cost?

Thanx,
Dennis

I bet that was pretty cool looking!

But then again... if you're gonna' hide the engine, why not just close the hood?

Alot of new cars use something like that to make the engine compartment look more tidy and organized. Even the C5 uses those plastic overs to hid the coils and ignition wires.

Personally, I think nothing beats the looks of a SBC or BBC with no accessories or emissions crap (like mine :)). Besides, "engine compartment cover, painted to match the car"--ain't that just the definition of "hood"? :jester

Just my opinion....

My definition of COOL (please note spelling:rolleyes:):

1 Small Block Chevy in all its glory. Yeah, I got to do something with those plug wires.

Hey you could stuff a big RAT under that thing and then tell people it's a 'very highly tuned 350'... Or you could go the rice route (which this sorta sounds like anyway) and put a 327 under there and claim it's a big block.).

VTHokie77Vette....your boys almost spoiled the season for my Canes!!! I really thought VT was going to win in the end but the Canes lucked out.
