Headers for a 78 L-48- Anywhere in Canada?
I'm going to redo my exhaust in the spring....duals, new mufflers, and headers. Any suggestions on which headers to get for my 1978 L-48? I've heard Hooker Headers would be good. Any others? If so, where can I find some, preferably in Canada?
Thanks, :)
Thanks, :)

Go to the Holley web site they own Hooker now. I have Hookers on my 77 L48 #2224 I just ordered the headers with side pipe option for the 76, should be no problem finding distributor for Hooker out East We have one out West:)

Try Performance Improvements on The Queensway in Etobicoke.
There are other outlets around as well, I think there's one on Kennedy near the 401.

Ace, I called Performance Improvements and got a quote for Ceramic-coated Hooker Headers...about $1,100...there's got to be a cheaper alternative...maybe buying in the U.S.?

I always buy from the U.S.. Sorry for not encouraging our local speed shop but they take serious % when they sale. I was planning on getting wheels on my car and the first price I got from the speed shop was 2400$ CAN. The price from U.S. is 672$ US plus shipping. When I order something, I double the cost of the item listed in US money and that about what I will pay in canadian money. So for about 1300 to 1500 CAN, I should get my wheel by UPS. When you can, get it shipped by US mail. It's not always possible but try it.
I would suggest you to buy the headers by summit racing. They have a 1-800 line and with a credit card you can go a long way.

Dynomax Cerama-Coat Headers
1 5/8" coated by Jet-Hot, $209 US from Jegs (maybe Summit as well).
Hookers are 1 3/4" which you really don't need for a stock up to about 400 hp small block.

Thanks Steve...it's definitely much cheaper for me to order from the U.S. (even with the exchange rate, taxes, and shipping charges) rather than order from a supplier up here...their mark-ups are ridiculous.
For example, for a set or ceramic-coated Hooker Headers (competition headers, not the super kind) a few places here in Toronto are asking for about $1,100 CDN (roughly $660 US)...whereas I can get them from Summit for $320.95 US...even with shipping and customs charges, there's no way it would be over $450.00 US. They're robbing us blind up here.
Thanks again!
