Need some help to pick the right parts for my rebuild.
I have a LG4 305 and would like to just rebuild the motor right now with a little performance boost. I was looking at http://www.northernautoparts.com/Pro...uctModelId=717 for my rebuild kit. What selections do I make on the main brgs, pistons, rings, and rod brgs? If I want to make a 310 do I make everything .030? Also I was wondering which oil pump I should get with it also. I'm also planning on getting the Comp Cam with the 252 dur. I want to build up my LG4 so I can tell people it's got a 305 in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

How much of a rebuild are you gonna do? Are you going to take it to a machine shop at have it looked over? It's up to the machinist to decide wether or not things are out of spec and that will dictate what over/under sizes you need. Alot of guys just get everything in standard sizes and replace as needed. But i'm not sure that that's the way to start building a performance engine. Also, the easiest way to do it is to have the engine guy supply the bearings and rings and such. Saves alot of hassle and he'd probably cut you a pretty good deal.
