Default A "shiny" new member of the Family

I ordered a M5 September 2000 and continue to wait for it. Being a real estate broker I believed I needed a 4 door for business purposes. I had a real hard time getting enthusiastic about any 4 door until I found out about the M5. While at dinner with my wife last Friday evening I was lamenting both the wait on the M5 and the need of a 4 door as I only need the back seat very occasionally. My wife asked, "What would you really want?" I replied that if not for needing a 4 door I would really like to get another Vette!" She said, "Well, I have a nice new and very comfortable mini van, use it and leave me the Vette when you need to. Get the Vette!" (She is a very good driver by the way. She knows how to double clutch as well as Where & How to park it!)

We went over to the Chevy dealer in Los Gatos. They had 3 new Vette convertibles in the showroom. I preferred the hardtop and he said they just received one. It was pretty nice. Assuming I would get a negative answer, I asked if he had any Z06's. He said they just got a yellow one in that afternoon on the truck. "Oh?!" To make a long story short, I got the ZO6, my 4th Vette. It was the last day of the month and the last day of the quarter, I paid MSRP! I drove it home about 10 0'clock that night. Do I have a great wife, or what! The engineers really hit one out of the park with the Z06!

Now all I have to do is cancel my M5 order and get my deposit back. Absolutely no regrets!!

Please don't make me drool any more.
There is something about a bright Yellow Z06 that makes think of wonderful thoughts.
How about some PICs.

Congrats!
I would think that calling to cancel the M5 would be the most fun part. If you tell then that you are cancelling because you are sick and tired of waiting and are going to go somewhere else (but not that you have already bought something) they will come up with something real quick. :yesnod:

You can always "sell" your order for the M5. Around here M5s do not sell for MSRP. Dealers get alot more.

I was honored to be one of the first to see your incredible new car.I didn't think it would be too long before the new avatar was added. That avatar is one of the coolest ones available. It looks even cooler on the side of your car. Now I must insist that you add a side by side pic of the two beauties in your signature.
Nice tires Chuck ;) :D

I have never been in a Z06. You had better get over to the C-5 forum and figure out how to improve on it. :)

I'm very happy for you.
I promise, I'll take good care of the L-88 for you. :)

Congratulations. I think the vette will be more fun to drive than the M5 which are also really nice. Hopefully one day I will get a new vette too. I'm still dreaming though.

Steve,

Grovelling is so beneath you! I think it's your turn to buy lunch. We can take either the Honda or the yellow one. Your choice.

I saw my first Z06 in Canada yesterday-- saw one last Sept at Ecklers-- It was a yellow one too. Just about put my truck in the ditch. The wife had to clean up the drool on my face!

Congrats on the new ride!

You've got the best of both worlds, Chuck!

When the car mags say, "Z06...the fastest Corvette ever".....you gott'em covered.

When the car mags say, "If only car makers could make 'em as strong as the old L-88's".....you gott'em covered.

Must be sweet to be you!
