I have a picture of a 4 link with a ford 9 inch. I can not post it but can send it to you if it would help. CarbedC4 posted it on engine mods.

Are you talking about a C-3 with a solid rear like ford or 12 bolt? A guy here in town has a 72 with a narrowed and tubbed Vette 4 link coil over. He managed to fit 32X14.5 slicks. He runs super gas class.

Thanks norval and gkull. Yeah, I want to put together a 9 inch, but I'm not sure whether the crossmember needs to go and be replaced with 2x3, or if I can keep it and notch/modify it. I would also like to see how much notching of the body in the battery box and jack well it might take. I want to do as little cutting as possible on the stock frame. I wouldn't mind a four link, but I'm not sure what needs to be done to clear the upper bars and keep them at an effective length. I would greatly appreciate any pics emailed to me. Hopefully, my @home connection won't be interrupted by the cable co. wars.
