Default New tubes for hooker sidepipes

Has anyone tried replacing hooker sidepipe tubes with big truck stackes? I measured mine and there 45 inch long and I think 4inch inside dia. I think You can buy stackes in this length and dia For big rigs If any one has tried this let me know as seems cheaper than 300$ for hooker pipes.

What I have found and am going to use is stackes for a semi .I found the lowest price at my local Kenworth dealer The pipes are 48 in long Chrome so will need to be cut to length also they are 4in outside dia they are $64.50 a piece . Then I will put a 4in band style chrome clamp on them to mate 4in outside to 4in outside (header end might have to be trimmed a little also ) the clampes are $11.88 each all told about $160 bucks all told anyone want the part numbers and I will post them Hope This will help some of the other cheap people like me out

So, how do you plan on putting mufflers in the tubes?

I think you should just run the straight pipes without mufflers. :D

Can't they flare the end of the tube out like the original's, so they would fit as the originals do. I know you can get tube expanders for smaller sized exhaust pipes, what about one big enough for a 4" pipe?

I dont belive you can expand chrome plated pipe I think the chrome would crack . as far as mufflers I think I'll rig up some spiral tube baffels . I work in a metal fab shop so can build what i need I am not sure how originals (mufflers) bolt in :cool:Larry

Yeah Chrome would probably crack, but Since I have black, I always think in the terms of black.

Let us know how they work out.
