Default New air compressor for $90.00...check out the details

Harbor Freight mail order has a pancake compressor on sale for $90.00. 5.2scfm@40psi or 4.2scfm@90psi. It is a 2hp, 4 gallon compressor. I think this is the minimum size needed to power an impact ratchet. The only reason I even need this thing is for working on the vette. Now I can get those really stuck bolts off. Just wanted to share the info. Sale price is good until Dec. 24.

Regards,

Jim

It doesn't look like that big of a deal, but you are going to want more storage capacity than 4 gallons. 20 or 30 is nice.

You will not be able to run an air grinder off of that compressor for very long, and it will barely keep up with an impact gun.

IMHO, save your money for a 5 hp, 20 or 30 gallon compressor, you'll be glad you waited.

Nope.....when they're REALLY stuck, armstrong is the only thing that'll do the job. I usually use a flex T-handle on a socket and if more brute force is needed, I slide a metal pipe over the end of the flex T-Handle for increased leverage.

My compressor is 5hp....30 gallon tank......120psi and it doesn't always get the tough ones!

As I said, my arm can supply more torque than the air gun.

I agree with MikeC....save up for a good one!

I have a small diaphram type air compressor pretty much like the one you list.

It was the worst purchace I've ever made :U It's WAY noisy and too small.

I would NEVER recommend getting a diaphram type again, get a real piston, dual stage compressor.

Thanks guys,

I think I will reconsider this great deal and wait for a better compressor.

Jim
