Here is a possibly useful site:

http://registryofcorvetteracecars.com/ee/index.php

Maybe there is a way to ask folks at that site about your car. Jim Gessner (vettefinderjim is his CF handle, I think), who posts in the C1/C2 For Sale section is an old racer and may have some contacts who will help you. You never know.

Good thread and a great find. Hope to hear and see it run someday. I recently heard a Baldwin Motion Camaro start and run at The Glenmoor Gathering in Ohio. Pretty hard not to like the sounds of a healthy Chevrolet. Glad to see you are so enthusiastic about the car and the sound etc. Hopefully this car will escape the clutches of those that would return it to the day it left the factory. My interest in Corvettes goes back to the drag cars in the sixties and early seventies-nothing better. I am sure you will have nearly as much enjoyment researching and collecting all of the history of the car as you will with the car itself(I'm a research nut on the real early racing in this country). Good luck and keep us posted-Jim

He also is going to send out a box of all his documents of the car every receipt registration time slip magazine articles and tons of pictures. He'll get them sunday and try to ship out Mon or Tues. Great story, and excellent acquisition.

I especially like the American flag on the side of the hard top. Nice touch

There's a story about those flags on the "Virginia Gentleman" 's hard top that John Jr. told me today. The French Flag is on the drivers side and an American flag on the passengers side of the hard top. John Sr wife Mimmi is French, Sr met her while in the military over seas. She is a stunningly beautiful lady and a whipper snapper in personality. One of there daughters is a pro football team cheerleader and has been on Bay Watch and many T V commercials. She got her good looks from her mother.

Strat,

That pic is from the NHRA Div. 1 (NED) bracket finals at Maple Grove Raceway. Must have been in the 80's since the guard rail is still ARMCO barrier not the Jersey wall that's required now.

Dave
John Jr called tonight and said that the car was painted red from green just prior to these photos. That's why it was not loaded with sponsor advertisement yet. He also told me the car did not have the new ATI racing trans in it yet. That trans would launch the car so hard it would "put it on the back bumper". He told me the Nitran Paints lettering on the back quarters is not on yet. Notice the front has a 3 inch spoiler on front that says John Boughers on bottom, but that is missing
