1979 resto question??
I have a friend that just bought a 79 corvette. It’s bone stock according to they dealer, but he only has two doors behind in the luggage compartment. In my 79 I have 3 doors. Was there an option for two or three doors or is one of our cars not stock?

Re: 1979 resto question?? (79er)
The very late 1979s had the two-compartment set-up as well as the 85mph speedo. It was not an "option." Check the VIN. It will be close to the number 53807.

Just to follow-up, a quote from the book seen below (Richard Prince, ISBN 0-7603-0657-5):
"All 1978 and the great majority of 1979 cars featured three enclosed storage compartments behind the seats. During the last few weeks of production in September 1979 some cars were fitted with two enclosed storage compartments as in 1980-1982....All 1978 and most 1979 cars feature 140-mile-per-hour speedometers. Those 1979s assembled after approximately July 1979 and all 1980-1982 cars have 85 mile-per-hour speedometers."
