Default Dynomax Header gasket question

I'm ordering my headers tonight (wife's Christmas present) along with what I need to install them. I'm going to go with copper collector gaskets and Stage 8 locking bolts. My question is about the header to head gasket. I'm going to go with either a dead soft copper or aluminum gasket but when I looked in the summit catalog they list square or round configurations. I know the stock gaskets are square but looking at the headers they look like they have round pipes. What to order? Earl's Pressure Master sets come in 1.36"x1.36" or 1.50"x1.50" or 1.59" round. Also, do any of you have a preference for aluminum or copper? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Percy's Dead Soft round port with Stage 8 locking fastners here. Seemed to be a better match for the headers. 5 months, 4000 miles, no leaks.

Good luck with the copper gaskets. I bought a set for my Dynomax headers and could not get them to seal. I went back to conventional fiber gaskets and no problems.

Thanks, sounds like the round ports are the right one's. I'm not sure which brand I will go with but I'll make sure it's a good one like Percy's, SCE, or Earl's.

I have gone through a few sets to finally get a good seal. I am now running Mr Gasket 'ultra gasket'. It fits the ports perfectly and is much tougher than most fiber gaskets so they won't get brittle and crack...

cheap at the local Kragen's too..

When selecting header gaskets, you want to go with the shape of the header tube, in this case round. I've heard too many complaints using the copper gaskets that they won't seal. Have heard mostly good on the aluminum gaskets, not sure if it's worth the money though. Mr. Gasket Ultra Seal exhaust gaskets do a wonderful job for 1/2 the price.

As far as the Stage 8.. I know alot of people on the board swear by them, but for me the ARP's do just fine after retorqing them once.

That's what i needed to know. Thanks Keith. It looks like I'm going to take a look at the Ultra Seal gaskets too. It looks like they have a following here and you can't beat experience. Thanks again everyone. :seeya
