Looks like the Millennium Falcon at night in my cockpit.

Re: are your fiber optics still working???????????? (TNT)
When I got my car the fronts were the only ones working. I finally broke down and took the console out and the rear ones looked like that they had not been plugged into the console lenses. I have yet to test them to see if they actually work. I am hoping that is all that is wrong. The fiber optic fiber/cable is plugged in at the tail lights. I have my fingers crossed that they work.

When I got the car they didn't. All I had to do was go around, scrape the paint overspray off of the light pickups and plug them in. They all work great now.

The trick is to keep them clean where they plug in.

stefan, good question???? dash8 is a model prefix for a railroad locomotive.in this instance ; d8-40b. d stands for deisel. 8 stands for the year; 1988. 40 is for the horsepower; 4000hp. b is for four axles.i'm also an engineer. normally we have three ,or four of the engines together. chris.. :seeya

Fronts work, except where I put halogens in the lowbeam spot, and Bubba CUT the rears right at the rear of the hand brake console. They work up to that point. I'll slice 'em later.

I may replace them with LED's. That way they'll indicate when something's NOT working rather than when it IS!

They were not installed on your car. I don't remember the exact years, but I believe 68 - 72. Just like the wiper door and removable rear window. :smash:

68-71 only have fiberoptics. 72 does not have any. It's the only way I can tell a 71 from a 72.

Hi
On my 68, non of them works.
Looks like no fiberoptic harness at the console. Don't know where it's cut, but will find out and hopefully, get it repaired.
It's one of the special features of early C3 and should be operational.
One of many things on the to do list.

Amazingly, yes.
Has anyone else noticed that when the light's aren't on, but the sun is directly hitting the light fixture it illuminates the lights? Freaked me out first time it happened, because my tail lights kept coming on as if I was hitting the brakes - but I wasn't!
