I've tried everthig except removing the stupid tray to stop it from rattling. Nothing works for more than a day. It is driving me nuts!

Mine rattled and it turned out it was the edges rattling against the body. So, I slit some thin tubing and put it over the edges so it could not contact the body. Did not need to do entire lenght, just three spots - left, center, right. Then, make sure re-installed tightly. Can be a little hard to reinstall if the tubing is too thick - hard to line up screw holes. But, made it silent - finally!

There are supposed to be three pieces of foam along the leading edge (one in the center and one on the left and right equally spaced apart) to prevent the rattle but they lose their adhesive and fall off with time. Dr. Rebuild sells them in his catalog and they are not expensive. Will most likely cure your problem.

Also check you gas door for noise. A weak spring will drive you crazy. Comes and goes...

That is what I thought, but I figured "silvervetteman" referred to Silver Anniv. car, guess not.

hey silvervetteman, go to your local upholstery store ,and get some thick dencity [ spelling] foam. cut two squares about 1.5 in. by 1.5 in... attach them to the body above the storage tray at the leading edge in each corner with wetherstrip adhesive. worked real good for me. good hunting,....... :smash:

Mis-leading.... When the forum started I had a silver 92 so I chose my handle... When I got the blue 69 I didn't change my handle. Why ??? good question.
