Default Check out these gauges!

I decided to upgrade to Auto Meter Ultra Light Pro comp gauges with the silver face and red needles in the 69 project. My original gauges were shot and were going to cost me a mint to get back in operation. Plus, with the fuel injection, MSD dist, big block, etc. etc. a few more upgrades were in order.

This is so freaky fresh looking on an all black car.

Check it out.

These gauges are all electric including the speedo. The speedo comes with a unit to mount on the trans and convert the spin to a signal. The odometer/trip is digital and has a self programming feature. When you turn the power on they jump up and back down like a new Vette. I relaced the clock with a fuel pressure gauge. This way I can keep an eye on the fuel injection.

that looks awsome. What are the sizes on the guages? Was the job hard to do?

Where did you get the guages? I am also interested in what kind of headlights you have. I have same setup but
not lights....

The center gauges are 2 1/16" and fit like a glove. The tach and speedo are considered 5" and required me to make a aluminum backing plate that I rivited to the stock housing.

Hard? It all depends. I am running a new style Painless 18 circuit wire harness in the car anway, so I am just integrating as I go.

Total cost was bout $650 for all, but that included an $80 fuel pressure gauge that most people don't need. They do make a nice clock that would fit in that place with the same silver face.

I have the stock style pop up headlights.

Check out my whole photo point account. I finally painted the car, but it has been in the garage every since getting dirty just sitting still.

This car is full of surprises from the Vingate A/C unit hidden under the dash, hydraulic clutch, fuel injection system, VB&P suspension, 500 watt stereo, electric headlight actuators and electric wiper door actuator.

Yep, they light up in your choice of a red back glow or green. I went for the green. You can also just light them up white.

There are replacement bulbs you can put in to get the neon glow that you find many new cars today as well. The needles glow red on the tach and speedo.

One other thing, I had to go to radio shack and get some cool LED lights to put in my center console for the blinker, high beam, and brake indicator. No worries, a welcome trade off for the fresh accurate and smooth looking units.

Radio Shack has a variety of schweet 12v LED lights. I dropped the fiber optics and am putting the turn signal, high beam, brake indicators in the center console using the fiber optic holes.

Hi Chris long time no see... First of all WOW-EEEEEEEE that is one nice looking set up you got there. I got the same set up waiting for the installiation, exept I got I with clock(To be always on time). I'm still waitin for shipment from Vintage air, Ecklers. Looks like we are doing many same things to our cars, gaugaes, Vintage Air, Vette Brakes suspension... I'm having troubles to find the time to work on the car. My garage is packed with all kinds of car parts. I just got my transmission here, so now I need to get the cross member modified to fit. So much to do, so little time.................... Keep us posted Chris!

NICE!!! Very

I need to get a new speedo in my '80. I still have that stupid 80 mph speedo that is usually pegged so I can't tell how fast I'm going. :mad Yeah, that really keeps me from speeding and saves gas. Stupid idea.

I like the big 160 mph number. That is the way it should be. :yesnod:

I have to say I'm an NCRS type but what you've done so far with a basket case 69 is very  . Those gauges are awesome, should look great lit-up at night.

Here is the link back to that other thread you posted about the other headlight actuator deal.

I think I covered them pretty well there. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

There's a company that sells a faceplate cover that would make your DIN radio install look a little cleaner for $12. They are American International at www.aius.net the part# is FP-306. I haven't actually got mine installed yet but it covers the raised area around where the ***** used to go. I'll be putting mine in this weekend and could snap some pics if your interested in what it looks like.

Those guages look great by the way.

Thanks for the info on the radio section. I actually had to shift the radio over by about 3/4" or so to clear the Vintage A/C system, so that plate may not do me much good. It sounds like a great idea. I tried to make the area look as good as I could, and even textured around it to match the upper portion. I agree it looks kind of strange with that **** hold stubbed off there.
