what is the best machanical fuel pump?
i am gonna get a new fuel pump in my car even though im pretty sure it is not the source of my drag racing problems. i have the carter strip pump in the car now. and i have tried to fit an edelbrock Victor pump in before but it was to big. it hit the suspention parts.
what is the best mach. pump for the track that you know will fit in a 79 C3???

better yet: is it worth it to add an electric pump in my car(remove the mach.) but still use the stock fuel line? is there a way to do this. i have no knowledge on how to change the pickup and change it to a better, thicker line :(

If you're not concerned about looks and have no return line, you could get an LT-1 pump from Auto Zone for $19. It'll pump out 8-9 psi.
I now have a Holley hi-performance chrome model. It's the one in Jegs & Summitt that's advertised as not needing a fuel pressure regulator. It pump out 8.5 psi. I was happy with both but the Holley is shiney!

I have an LT-1 pump and a fuel regulator. It is the way to go. When you use a regulator to reduce the pressure you will have constant smooth pressure. Buy a good regulator.
