Default IS IT TOO MUCH!?

Hello everyone. i have a problem. i am looking at a 79 vette, with a replaced 350 engine- not a corvette engine, but a crate motor from chevrolet- 300 hp. it is a beautiful machine with only 60,000 miles, and it performs very well. the paint is new, it is arctic white with a pearl blue add, and a corvette blue stripe on the scoop on the hood and sides. my only problem is this- he wants 12k for the car. Is this too much? i live in a small town, so my only other choice for a vette is to drive somewhere else, or just buy a streetbike. the interior is fine... original leather(seats) but the door panels need replaced. it has been babied, but i still wonder if this is too much. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If you had bought the car and had to replace the motor and have it painted you would have more than that invested. Interior is not too many $$$ to replace seat covers, door panels and dye the rest. I think it sounds like a fair price. Someone told me not to look forever just to save $1,000 and get a lesser car.

New engine and paint is a good $6-7k. So if you buy a lesser car and do it yourself you'll have to find one that's otherwise in as good of condition and is $6k or less.

Sounds to me like this is a pretty good deal. :yesnod:

sounds like a very good deal, just make sure to check everything twice...
i've been looking at the market for '79s myself (selling mine  )

'79s currently go for 8k to 14.5 k depending on the condition of course.
I've also looked at '79s that were advertised for 8-9k and they were nothing
but a POS
