Vette VRS Formula: 1 Has To Go
OHH..THE AGONY :cry I've had the Vette about 5 months, and the 2002 Formula F-Bird 6 months. My 1991 Explorer finally died and I had to get another SUV. (Mountaineer) Garage space, finances, and a teen soon to be driving has forced me to remove one of these horses from the stable. :cry :cry :cry
Now I kinda know what you'll all tell me.. but I'd thought I'd ask un-biased opinions anyway. Hobby/Classic/Cool/Gratifying VRS Modern Technology/Speed/Convieniences :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing

Three years from now, the 'Bird will be worth much less than it is today. The Vette' as much as today or likely more. If each car serves the same purpose as a playtoy and fun car, the financially responsible thing to do is to sell the rapidly depreciating 'Bird. :)
Assuming you're not way underwater on a loan for the 'Bird.

Tough choice! A bit like choosing between danish and donuts :)
I believe that in the long run very few cars can match the charm, drivability, reliability (!!!?) and nostalgia of driving America's only sports car. I bet the Formula can outperform the 'Vette in many ways - but the gut-feeling and pride of riding in a Vette is simply unbeatable. :p: :p: :p:

Which vehicle do you normally drive? I'd never sell a car which caused me to have to drive a SUV most of the time. So, I guess my answer is if selling the Firebird means that the Mountainer is your normal driver and selling the vette would mean the 'bird would be your normal driver, I'd sell the vette. If, however, the Mountaineer is your driver regardless which one you sell, you and I think much too differently and I'm not sure you should take my advice (which would be to sell the 'bird).
I don't know if that made any sense, but it is my opinion.

Obviously I agree with all of the above. The vette is only going to go up in value. Its alot easier to buy a bird. Alot easier to work on a c3. So on and so on.

I'd like to go ahead and make another point.
The biggest advantage of owning a Corvette... it'll turn heads. My dad has a 2001 Camero that I drove the wheels off this summer. It's an awesome car, quick, quite, smooth riding, cool looking, etc... but not once did the chick at sonic tell me the Camero was, and I quote "pimp tight!"
Corvettes are unique! :chevy
I can understand though, if practicality is an issue. aka: a daily driver driven hard! Then the firebird may be the way to go. My friend has a 2002 trans-am... very

A lot of good points are being made here. I say save the vette!!!! I think its an investment, a hobby, and as dusty350 pointed out... The chicks dig vettes. But you're the only one who can make the decision.

well i woulda kept the bird because of the whole cancelling of the F-body cars.. i kinda think a last model year car would be worth a lot of money.. but then again Vettes are just too  and no one would understand it if you did get rid of it.

To be honest, I'd rather pick between 1 of my limbs, the vette and the fbird....
And i'd choose one of my limbs.....

I dunno corey....They've made millions of them in the past few years...when he is not tied up in paying off the mountaineer, if he wants the 'bird back, he could probably get one cheaper then new now(it'll take them a whole-lotta years to get their value back I think)...Im not saying keep the vette because its better(even though it is), I'd say keep it because in 5 years if you want it back, you can get it cheaper then you could get the vette back(as far as what you bought them for now, and what you'll buy them for in 5 years).
