Default Sway Bar size?

I'm getting ready to order a new front end kit for my 71. I was told I need the front sway bar diameter. Id there a standard size for this car? It is a 71 convertible with the base 350 motor and auto tranny. I cant measure it as the car is in the paint shop.

Thanks in advance,

Dennis, the original bar used on all small block cars (except F-41 and ZR-1) was 3/4 inch. A 15/16th inch bar was used on all big block cars, and all small blocks equipped with either F-41 or ZR-1. Unless you just want to go back stock, a good factory setup is the 75-up Z07/FE7 bar of 1 1/8th inch front and 7/16th inch rear.

I have found through experimentation that 1 1/8 front and 5/8 rear is a good combo for a small block. Don't go any larger on either end.
