give us some ideas on just what would happen if he did decide to take the big washer out ,gain boost in the upper more so ,leave it in & gain it quicker from the lower rpm range ?oR Would he gain more boost throughout the whole rpm curve,i mean i have been wondering about this myself ,i know where it goes ,i just dont knw the real world effect i am gonna get out of it

only effects boost in the upper rpm range and has no effect down low but by limiting the upper end boost you can run a smaller pulley which will start to build boost sooner down low
take it out??????
only if you know the tune is good without it

Take it out, It's a lot more fun, Make sure the tune is good without it, I took mine out and had it retuned to make sure, It will never go back in, I'm at 617 with an auto and stock bottom end, It has more power all the way from idle to WOT, Take it out and have fun.

Thanks for the replies. I expected something in the end of the blower. Maybe I'll play Nouman and just chuck the entire thing and put a 2" pulley on it.

I pulled mine out. Ran about 13.5 - 14 PSI. Normally ran about 10-11.
Results were amazing. I was at 595 with a restrictor. Stock block and stock 241 heads, A4(RPM). ECS blower cam and meth. Pulled like a friggin freight train with the restrictor out. When the trans shifted into 2nd, I thought I got hit by a truck!
I put it back in. No reason to blow up the stock shortblock if I dont have to.
When I'm ready to do the forged bottom. It comes out for good!!

Madeouttaglass,
I am in the same boat as you are in. I am currently making 545rwhp @ 9-10psi. I am running meth, so as to prevent detonation. I have a restrictor plate that I plan to put in tomorrow to bring down the boost to about 7-8psi. My opinion would be to use the restrictor plate until you go forged. I have seen a stock block let go from too much boost. Not very pretty. As others have said, if you get an all new forged motor, you can get some money for your stocker, but not if it is in a large basket. Besides, if you are in a place where you can drive your car in the winter, you won’t get much traction even at 5psi., at least I can’t. But in the end, it is your decision and your money.
