Does Your Wife Or Girl Friend Ever Get Mad?
Does your wife or girl friend ever get mad because of how much money or time you spend on your vette? My wife (Cathy) and my two daughters could not care less about my vette. But the wife never gets mad because I spend to much time or money on the car. In fact she always buys me little ( and big also) things for the vette.
Sometimes I wish she would come to the car shows with me, but I guess that I am lucky because she never complains at all about the car ( believe me she has plenty of reason to) at all. Thanks Cathy, I love you.

Hmmm.....Don't have a wife or girlfriend but I DO have a husband!
and he never says a word about what I do or buy for my Vette.
THAT would just open the door for me to say a ''word'' to him about his! :)
The '79 is mine and the '94 is his. :)
IN fact...he gets more excited than I do when parts arrived for the ''project''!

Not mine. :blueangel:
Actually she likes old car projects and has a '67 Mustang convertable she keeps running mostly herself. The Ferd is hers, the :chevy is mine and together we're gonna build a '70 RoadRunner that we bought back in June. :)

Hey Richard,
Mine ,for many years, felt the same as yours, even going to the numerous & various car shoes with me.Then,on a dime,a complete turnaround. She got as jealous of the car as one would another woman. That was one of the reasons I was away from the forum for so long. She's gone now(divorced)costing me alot;but I still have my baby(see below)along with the house, garage, quicklift,& all my tools to treat my baby right. The best part though is she NEVER yells at me!!!!!She just roars when we hit the open road & those pipes are music to my ears. You're a lucky man!!
Tony :) :) :)

My wife is used to it.
Her dad loves cars and used to build copper lighting in the garage as a hobby (now he does it full time as a job) so he was always out in the garage.
Her step-dad rebuilds old cars as a hobby.
She understands, and has a great appreciation for old cars and car shows. She spent many hot summer days at "Rod Runs" when she was growing up.

The wife gets a little annoyed.
She called me the absentee husband tonight when I went out there.

She never gets "mad", but I can tell when I'm spending too much time on car stuff for her. I try to be aware and spend some "quality" time with her when I sense that. God, I sound like such a GEEK!!!! :bb She loves cars too, but she has her limits. I don't have to worry about spending too much on the car because I got nutt'n to spend. That solves that. :smash:

Re: Does Your Wife Or Girl Friend Ever Get Mad? (Richard Cooper)
I bought my vette from a guy who was trying to save his 4th marriage. He agreed to get rid of the vette (he was spending too much time and money) and go to counseling, and she agreed to stay in the marriage. My wife has her own money pits (horses, and a '69 Mach1) and has no room to complain.

The wife complains sometimes, but she knows that when I buy parts for the 'Vette, it also means a shopping trip for her. Give and take I guess-seem to keep the peace though.
Hey Eric 70, finish the story! I want to see who you would have chose! :D

My wife has had plenty of reason to be mad at me for spending "to much time with the Corvette"!
Between rebuilding my engine, and building the www.C3VetteRegistry.com site, all my spare time is Corvette related!
I'm pretty sure she wants to blow up my Corvette and my Computer!

When I met my wife, I had already an old american car so our couple grew with the fact that I had to go 1 to 2 times a week work on my car.(1978 camaro always broken) It's been 5 years now and she knows how it is with an old car and the Corvette don't need to get repaired as much...so I have more time to do some mods. :D

My wife bought the car for me as an anniversary gift. She has never had a problem with me and the vette. She now gets annoyed that my son gets to ride in the vette more than she does. She has been trying to get me to find another car so that the family can go to the cruise nights or car shows in one car vs. two.

Mad? - no. Disgruntled? - maybe. Opinionated? - OH YEA.
But she is the best to have around when the hammer hits the wrong part or I stick myself with the screwdriver. Nurses are great!
