How can I identify my cyl. heads??
Is there something like a casting number on the heads too?
If yes, what kind of number should that be, where is it located and can somebody identify the head with the help of the number?

When you remove the valve covers you will find a casting number between the 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 cylinders, depending on which cover you remove. The casting number should be 6 digits. Normally the last 3 digits are used to identify small block Chevy heads. This site should help you compare what you've got to others; http://www.dw1977.cz28.com/photo2.html

Thanks for this info....
I´m curious, but I don´t wanna take the valve covers off.
But, if I´ve some time left, why not......
I could change my rocker arms while I´m at it :jester

There are two rules:
1. IF IN DOUBT - GO BIG !!!
and
2. If you have an easy question, call Frank...... :D
Markus, if you have the numbers I will be glad to sort them out for you.
(If I´m not in the UK.... )
