No #2 Body Mount for '69 Coupe???
Well I opened the body mount bushing box from Prothene, and there's only 6 sets of bushings. Instructions say that the #2 mount is for verts only. Is this correct?

rubber or aluminum
On your 69 mounts, are you replacing the original type aluminum body mounts, or changing to the 73-82 rubber mounts? If you are changing from the solid aluminum mounts to the rubber, some of the rubber mounts are different for convertible 73-75 Corvettes. From GM the different convertible mounts have a white residue and of course have a different part number. Coupes 73-75 used the same rubber body mount in all 8 locations.

I'm replacing the aluminum with uretheyne. The kit is supposed to be specific for a '69 coupe, and it only comes with six sets of bushings. The instructions say that the #2 is for convertible only. Should I put one of the original aluminum bushings at the #2 mount, or just leave it off?

My '69 has 8 (original) bushings. I would not leave out the #2.
Maybe find the best 2 of the 8 you are replacing, and use those on the #2 ???
Or find 2 more bushings from someone that sells them separately.

On one of the kits I ordered a while back, can't remember which year/model, they just said to stack up shims to fill in the gap. I also thought that was a little hokey. If you have good aluminum ones, I would use it again and fill in any gap with shims.

poly bushings
I would not use poly to replace bushings on a 68-72 Corvette, especially since they only sent you 6 sets and what they told you about #2 being for convertibles. Corvettes, C3's left the factory with the aluminum ones from 68-72, both coupes and convetibles for all 8 body mount locations. The 73-82 used rubber like the C2 Corvetes instead of the aluminum. If you are going to do any changing, I would recommend using the 73-82 rubber ones. I did this to my original owner 70, read about doing it in 1973, saved the article and did the change to my 70 in the late 80's. I did have to use longer mounting bolts with the rubber. I have a set to do my 68 convertible one day. Just something I like about having rubber body cushions between the frame and body. The aluminum ones for the C3's did not last long for the C3 model run from the factory.

BTW, this sounds like more of Prothane's crap. Send them back and get a set of ES mounts that will actually come with everything you need except bolts.

Burning Brakes
Very good write up. The only thing I would add that when I did this on my 68 I needed to undo the seat belt cable which allowed the body to clear the frame completely.
