shifter lockout rod
rod came loose from T-handel wouldn't go into reverse. Took rod out and now it goes into reverse but it won't go into neutral. It will go out of reverse but when you put it in what should be neutral or any other gear it acts like its in forth gear when you let out the clutch wtf

Should I stop?
In any case, I would get under the car and look at the shift levers like I said the in the previous post. I think that rod being broken may have chewed up the interlock in the shifter and your tranny may also be stuck in more than one gear as a result.

Re: shifter lockout rod (Paul 75 L82)
I agree with steve, try and keep it in the same post.
From what you are saying, you are stuck in 4th gear and the reason it won't go into reverse with the lockout rod in is because of that.
Check you shift arms on the side of the tranny and make sure they are in neutral and they do not bind when you are shifting.
or like paul said, buy a hurst.

Re: shifter lockout rod (telk)
When you get under your car, leave the shifter in neutral, I bet the shift lever closest to the front of the transmission will be in the forward position(in 4th gear). Put it back in the neutral position and get someone to shift through the gears and see why it happened in the first place.

Re: shifter lockout rod (MikeC)
P.S. you don't need a jack if you have fairly long arms. I have had to do this in the middle of the road before(ie. no jack)........ Thats why I have a haurst now.
