Default Carbon Fiber Battery

Braille B2015 Carbon Fiber All Season Battery

Braille Batteries are used by racers all over the world in the FIA WRC, FIA Formula Racing, Speed World Challenge Series, SCCA ProRally Series, SCCA Regional and National Racing, NASA Touring Cars, NIRA, NOPI and Battle of the Imports Drag Racing Series. The Spec B2015 is also perfect for daily street use, even in colder climates. Braille developed the B2015 to excel at racing and to easily power street vehicles equipped with A/C, stereos and power accessories.

The B2015 features an industry leading energy to weight ratio. Enhanced Mat Technology (more surface area on the lead plates) combined with calcium full frame power path grids (increase cranking power), yields over 425 Cold Cranking Amps and 1050 Pulse Cranking Amps. With a weight of only 15 pounds/6.8kg, the B2015 is 10-30 pounds lighter than a standard battery of equal power.

Durability was also designed into the battery. Using high density oxide, braille was able to offer a battery with true deep-cycling ability over the life of the battery. Heavy duty vibration resistant power posts resist cracking and deterioration common to many lightweight batteries used in harsh automotive environments. The B2015 is a sealed unit that can be mounted in any position safely using its adjustable automotive terminal posts. Braille also includes a one-year free replacement limited warranty that is not pro-rated. The B2015 also includes pro-rated coverage over a two year period.

$225 for the carbon fiber bad boy. Right now I'll offer $9.95 shipping on all batteries.

I have an Odessey 680 dry cell

OA Length 7 1/16"

OA Width 2 15/16"

OA Height 7 3/16"

I layed it down flat and tightened it down with the stock bolt.

$148 for this one and $10 shipping. Also 15 lbs. Not ideal for very cold weather.

I see this one has 220CCA. What is the ambient operating temperature range of your Z06 where you live? Have you ever had cranking problems?

Hey Jason,

It works when it's cold, it just struggles a little. The Dry cells work better when it's a little warmer. My Garage never goes below 30 degrees.

Hey by the way, can you give me some info on the katech timing chain setup. I've heard you guys sell a very nice single.

The Braille one should work well in all seasons. I might just get one and sell the 680.

Define "cold". I was thinking about doing the Braille race battery at 6lbs., but was leaning toward the street battery at 15lbs. Either is a huge savings over the stock battery. My Z06 is in the garage for the winter. I don't really operate it below 50 degrees.

They have a carbon fiber one that's 10lbs or 6lbs too, but I think it would struggle a little too much in the cold. More for medium sized motors. Not the LS7

This one is 210. What I usually do is leave the stocker on during the off season and then put the 680 on during track days. That Braille 15lbder should be fine over 50 degrees no problem.

There is also one in between, check this one out $210

Your 680 is 220CCA.
The B106C doesn't list CCA. I wonder what it is.

Braille B14115 Carbon Fiber Lightweight Battery 11.5 lbs
This one has 360CCA and I've used the 680 with only 220CCA in cold weather. It starts fine with only 220 it's just it struggles a little. Basically just turns over a little longer. But with 360 you should be fine. I'll try to find out cold cranking amps on the 6lbder

The B14115 was the one I was leaning toward for a little safety margin if the temp drops. You never know in Michigan.

How cold have you started the 680? 30 degrees? 40 degrees?

35 degrees with 220CCA. I'd go with the B14115 with 360CCA, just to be safe. I'm going to have to try it now. Plus it's a more standard size for mounting on it's side. Lower CG and removing 35+ lbs of weight for $200? Sold buddy.

Very interested in your 2015 but how do you mount it? Can you use the stock mount strap? How does the cca compare to the stock battery.
