Default Pics as promised, New 08 C6.

Picked up my new 08 C6 today. All I have to say is............What a car!!! Oh man, I should have jumped from the Ford camp a long time ago. I still love my Mustang, but the Vette is in a whole different league.

What I like:

1. Handling - simply amazing, Z51 suspension gives the best of both worlds.
2. Steering - much improved over the 07 I test drove. Has more road feel and is more linear.
3. Shifter - still a little notchy but better than I expected.
4. NPP - Could be a little more vocal but I still haven't pulled the fuse yet. Overall a good option for some one who wants a nice exhaust that won't cause you to go deaf.
5. Fit and Finish - simply amazing, GM really has done a nice job with this car. I can honestly say this is the first car that I have purchased that is absolutely perfect. No paint blemishes, no orange peel, nothing. All the panels line up perfectly too. Really an outstanding job.
6. Power - I being a good boy and following the break in procedures but I can just tell this sucker wants to MOVE!!! You can really feel the low end torque in this thing. I can't wait to get some more miles on her and see what she can do!!!
7. Looks - the combo of the Machine Silver, comp grey wheels and clear top really looks bad ***. I had two different people ask me if it was a Z06 because of the wheels.
8. Seats- very comfortable and I have the 1LT seats.

What I don't like:

1. Interior is a little stark with the all black. I'll have to turn to the aftermarket for some dress up items to take car of that.
2. Not really a dislike but I'm still getting used to the fact of not having an actual key to start the car with.
3. Skip shift - whoose idea was this any way!!! Must get a tune to get rid of this.

I absolutely love this car, it's a dream come true for me. I never ever thought I would be able to afford a Vette but because of the guys at Diver Chevrolet it happened. No hastle to deal with and the accepted my supplier pricing without hesitation. My salesman took an entire hour to go over the car and how to work all the little gadgets the car comes with. Never had that kind of treatment before.

Now all I need is the weather to give me a break so I can get out and enjoy the car. It's been a long wait (since August) but I have to say it's been well worth it. I am now a proud member of the Corvette brotherhood.

That's why I went with the two tone interior on my 08 Silver coupe. I didn't want all one color inside. i LIKE YOUR WHEELS IN THAT COLOR - NICE.

ND4speed, is that a two tone titanium/ebony? Is it a 3LT car?

Congrats. I have the fuse on the NPP out for local driving and in for travel. It drones at 1400/1800 rpms and gets annoying. But for short periods the extra noise is nice, but I would prefer to have an exhaust like your Mustang. The NPP with the fuse out makes more a variety of noise then the Ford, but it is not as consistently nice.

Enjoy.

Lookin' good, Jim! Congrats. Now for a couple of things...
  • You can get rid of the 1>4 shift by installing a CAGS eliminator. Many of the forum vendors sell them for around $20 and installation is simple. No tune necessary.
  • That dealer sticker on the back of your car has got to go! Shame on them.

Have fun!

Congratulations, use her in good health. I like the GT in the garage,
they still look as good as ever, but will never catch the C6.
I like your taste in color as well.
GOOD LUCK, AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU!

Thanks!!! Yeah the dealer sticker kind of pissed me off but I can get rid of it easily. That's the first thing I plan to do this weekend.

They have to get along since they are in the same garage. I could have sworn I heard the Vette growl at the Stang though..............
