Will a 700r4 improve my 1/4 mile ets?
We have 3:08 rear gears and a th-400, just wondering if any of you who have done this swap noticed lower 1/4 mile ets, with only the tranny change.
I would think that with the lower 1st and 2nd. gear that the car would over come momentum faster and by the time it hit 3rd ( same 1:1 as th-400) that it would nt have that much of an effect since the car would be moving already pretty quickly.

If you want to drag race the car go with a powerglide build for the task.
If you want higher gas milage go with the 700r4
If you want a streetable track car put in a cam,headers,and a higher stall converter on the 400.Those trans are almost bullit proof.
