Speaking of Tranny coolers, check out my new one.
There has been a lot of talk about transmission coolers lately so this may help some of you. I recently spent a fortune on a BeCool aluminum radiator and dual spahl fans. While I needed a trans cooler for my 2800 stall. I was not about to attach the normal kind to my new radiator. I found this heat sink style cooler in a street rod mag. Since I have electric fans I'm going to mount it on the cross member between my rad and motor. I think it will look awesome. It will be a few weeks since my car is in the paint shop. I'll post more pics once installed. I hope this isnt out of line as I'm sure this company is not an approved vendor. Just wanted to make you guys aware of a trick
new product.
The manufacturer is Specialty Auto-Tech Inc.

Cool unit.
Did the street rod magazine say where these are usually mounted?
So the electric fans will be blowing air across it? That should work nicely.
How much heat do you think it'll add to your engine compartment though?

I've been looking at those for a while now. I'm trying to determine where to mount prior to purchasing one.

Heres some more info. As far as mounting I will get air from my electric fans, but they claim this isnt required because it is a heat sink. They claim these work better than the regular type because they cool better at slow speeds. Thay cay they can be mounted virtually anywhere, frame, floorboard, I will be using the front crossmember. They range in size 12", 18", 24", 30", 42". Mine is the 30" and has a 1.25 quart capacity. Not sure how it will effect underhood heat. Only one way to find out.
Good luck,
Dennis
