Default Dec 1st - Drag Races - California Speedway

"NHRA STREET LEGAL EVENT FOR DECEMBER 1, 2007 HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN."

Sorry guys but I think this one is a no go. For anyone giving it a shot you can call first and see if anyone is even there. "For additional information, please call Auto Club Dragway at 909-429-5060"
I'll be skipping this one because the website says it's cancelled and I have other things to do. If it were a sure thing I would be there in a heart beat but if it's not then I will get other things done and get ready for Sunday's Motor4Toys. You guys should look into that show if you still want some fun car time this weekend.
See ya all next time.

California Speedway - Street Legal Drag Races
Saturday Dec 1st
As usual:
Gates open at 7am / Racing at 9am (says 7am but might open at 6am) - get there early!
Drivers $20 / Spectators $10

Hey everyone. There were a bunch of real nice vettes last time I went in Oct. It was a good time even though it was humid and wet out. Should be pretty good this next one if it stays dry and a bit cool out. I'm going to the Saturday race. I know they do other races too but this is the one I can make it at and I will be there.

Remember if you are going:
- get there real early. last time a good hundred or more cars were turned away because they filled their limit.
- have a DOT & SNELL approved helmet. I picked up my new one on that auction site for $60 shipped.
- have a good time.

Last time there was talk about meeting and then caravaning in but it was just easier to get there to assure that you are there early. If anyone wants to meet up inside that's cool but there are different groups and it's a busy parking lot. So if we want we can try to maybe snag a row or section and get all the vettes to park together or you can just park where ever you want. There were a few clusters last time and we parked near one but no people were there. So either way, I'm going to race and have a good time.

See ya there,
-Shawn

Were you there last time? I don't remember seeing any silver C5's.

It's going to be a blast if it's good weather. Everyone should have some good runs.

Ok, how do i sign up, what's the cost to race, and what materials (i.e. helmet) do i need? This is the day before my 19th b-day so I think it would be a lot of fun...

you need a SNELL certified m2000 or m2005 helmet, your license, proof of insurance, registration and $20 cash to race. Otherwise you just show up early, this time we may want to shoot for 6:00-6:30 am

I just picked one up off ebay for $36 shipped for used, new they are about $60-65 shipped. I'm just gonna wash the hell out of it. Seeing as though I don't wear it as often as my MX helmet I figured I'd go the cheapest I could get.

Hope to see you there

All the KBC helmets I found were snell certified, which is what I got.

Bummer, I don't want a roll cage. All the ones I have seen ruin the look of the car.

Sounds like a great event. I'll definitely make it out their. Just have to get a helmet. Are all of you paying at the door? how many runs are we allowed?

not sure if it works, but how about asking a fellow member to ask for 2 tech cards if he or she has a passenger. i saw somedody who did, but both driver and passenger raced the same car though.

The dragway is setup in the north side of the parking lot. The Roval uses the Nascar race track.
