What I sold to buy the Vette.
Hi All,
Checking out some cd's I had burned and not labeled tonight and I ran across these two pics of my Camaro that I parted with this spring. I do miss it but I love the Vette. BTW the car was totally built with beer and friends. From the motor right down to the paint. Fast and loud. 9.40's @ 143. Driven on the street.
385 SBC, TH-400, 8 inch converter, 4.56 gears, IHRA and NHRA certified cage, street tires, 3inch mufflers, 1.31 sixty foot, 9.40's@ 143, 3400 lbs. 775 hp at the rear tires.

Man, I bet that was hard to part with :yesnod: I had to part with a toy I had for 10 years for my 73, I miss that old truck sometimes but I love the ability to be much faster with the vette normally aspirated then the ranger was with the nitrous, albeit a 4x4 with nitrous was pretty fun and talk about a great sleeper on the street :D

That is one AWESOME looking ride. My wife would flip for that car (She's an F-body girl). Did you drive the streets with the wheely bars? And a small block too!!!! :D By the tails lights, that's either a 67 or 68, but where'd the gas cap go?

Wow! That thing is beautiful.
That's a hard trade to make...
I sold a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder. I'm happy with my trade. :D

Joe,
Luv the car, it's a hard choice to make - I did just the opposite, sold the vette, because I had too many toys, the new one being a 70 Pro Street Camaro. Currently in the body shop :(

To buy the 84 we didn't sell anything. To buy the 79, I believe it was my soul.

Re: What I sold to buy the Vette. (Xracer)
Hi All,
Thanks for the compliments. I do miss the car but after nine years of having it I felt it was time to move on. The car was a blast to drive. It made heads turn and rotated the earth when you hit the gas but at the same time you could not go on long cruses. 7.25 a gallon for VP C-16 was hard to swallow. Besides I am getting to old to climb over these bars.

If it makes you feel any better I still have my 68 Camaro. It has a 383, a Super T-10 and a Ford 9 inch rear, but doesn't require wheelie bars :).
It was my first car and I will NEVER EVER sell it. I would sell my spleen before I sold that car.
