Default Picked Up A Wrecked 76

Ok guys , i picked up a wrecked 76 vette , In the dudes add it said salvaged title needs lots of work ! $4500. it already had the new zr1 rear bumper on the car (I like the way it looks) so i drove to Dallas with my car haller(im in Katy Tx) right outside of Houston , looked the car over , front end smashed , needs pass. floor , pass. window electric regulator , and rear brakes ,, i offered him $2000.00 cause of the work and the salvage title ,, well he takes it and he gives me a blue title ( not a salvage title,, clean title) the car has matching numbers and only has 98k miles on her , starts and drives ,,,

so I bring it to my shop where I work and i find a fiberglass 96 front bumper ( to match the rear ) i dont like the way the headlights looked , and i dont like the stationary lights eather ,, so i shave the headlights off, and move the headlights to the lower bumper ,, what do you guys think ?? be honest i can take it !! lol

THATS WHERE IM AT SO FAR , BEEN A LOT OF WORK A FEW MORE WEEKENDS AND ILL HAVE HER READY FOR PAINT

I like how you took the clus of the the rear bumper cover and married it to the front end damaged area.....I have been wondering how that rear bumper cover would look on a car.

But is your front headlight assembly going to pass the Safety Inspection ..which requires the center of the headlight lamp... to be not more than 54 inches NOR less than 24 inches from ground level...with the car unloaded....... I have been looking at doing some thing along this line ...but have not taken the next step...

Saying all of that.... It is looking good I enjoy Customs

I'm undecided as of yet, but that's because of the unpainted form. I'm sure when it's painted it'll have a true look and most will agree it looks very good. It sure has potential, and you ended up with a SWEET deal for $2K.

i like it, its very unique. i think i will like it better when its painted. And besides isnt the beauty of working on an old car that you can make it YOUR car. and for 2k, its an awsome deal.

nice work definitely a one off custom. and for what you have invested you can't go wrong I never would have thought a C4 front bumper would come close to lining up.

I like it. I think I would have fixed the original headlights though. Ready to see it painted.

hmmmmmm

I really like the rear bumper.

I do like the front. But the massive area from the upper lip of the front bumper to the leading edge of the hood.... only concerns me because it's different in pictures than in real life.

What are the headlights? They're itty bitty.

prime it so we can see it all one color.

Nice!!! I like the look.

One thing to think about is the airflow to the radiator. Will the limited space that is left provide you with enough cooling capibility? Will there be sufficient air to cool you're car on a hot Texas summer afternoon in traffic??

I must say it is different. I don't like the look of the front. The bumper seems to hang out way too far. I would also have concerns about whether you will get enough air flow to keep her cool. Let's see it painted maybe it will look better.

It looks neat, but would have been better IMHO with original headlights.

I like the rear and I think you got a great deal but I'm on the fence about the front end. Maybe when its painted. However you are doing a nice job on the fiberglass work. What's the color going to be? Maybe a newer color to go w/the newer front & rear. atomic orange like the ZO6 orange.

Im Fiberglas's The Lower Air Deflector Off The 96 To Bring Air Into Her Then Adding Dual Electric Fans Into The Front To Blow Air Into Her !
As For Color Im Going Back With The Pearl White , Then Im Throwing The 2001 Admiral Blue Tribal Flames From The Front To The Back Slim But Long Lick Flames , Maybe Some Light Grey Tribal Under The Blue Ones
