Default Off Topic.. Rust in Fiberglass

My dads boat has rust stains in the fiberglass. Anyone have any idea how to remove? Will fiberglass "stain" or better said.. absorb the stain? I told him to try some navel gel to neutralize it. Told him I would ask the smart people on this forum if they have a clue..  Sorry for going off topic but figured someone out there would know..

Try using an automotive buffer/polisher and a good quality compound like 3M microfinishing and a wool pad. If you need to, you can even sand the gelcoat just like paint on a car and then buff it out. I can buff out 1000 grit scratches easily in gelcoat. Any auto paint store or supply should have buffs and compounds and someone to show you what you need. I just sanded and buffed out my SeaDoos before I put them away for the winter. they look like new!
