Hooker Sidemounts Headers for 80 L-82
Thinkin bout em.... $1,208.00 plus s&h for a complete chromed set from Jegs Automotive. However, shark will no longer be NYS Emmissions legal and I'm not sure how loud she will be?? Are these open headers or is there a muffler system in the pipes somewhere? Any input will be helpful. Thanks, L8TER, Paul.

It wont be very loud at all with the stock reverse flow inserts shich are also very restrctive. They have a good sound just quiet. There are diffrent inserts you can get for diffrent sounds and levels of performance. I love the pipes. :yesnod:

There are 3 commonly available inserts for the Hooker 4" sidepipes. 1`) Reverse flow - extremly quiet and power sucking 2) 2 " glasspack nice sound little loud and less restrictive. 3) JCL spiral flow. supposed to be the best flowing. not sure of the loadness but probably close to the glasspack.
I don't know what comes with the Jegs system, but I thought they had to be bought seperate. Anyways $1200 seems kinda high to me. I paid 300 just for the sidepipes without the headers or inserts. Paid another 150 for the glasspacks. headers can't cost 650 can they? Also this was 2 or 3 years ago. :flag

The glasspack side pipes are quiter than the 3 chamber flowmasters I had on my vette. They look great and sound great on our C3's, just be care of burns ! They get extremely hot. :)

cost me aprox. CDN: headers 1500.
sidepipes 600.
mufflers 300.
but I wish I had known about JCL's before I got the glass packs.
Love the header-sidepipe combo though.

OK Guys, At least I have some direction now.
Mikeo,
Your Shark looks great. Your's is the exact look I'm trying to get. The sidepipes with the AR TT. Did you install the headers yourself? How involved is it? What about the rocker moulding, does it have to be removed for the sidepipe install?
Nomad78SA,
That link you provided is an unsupported web version. Thanks anyway!!
2NDSPIRE,
80 Convertable!! What, How!! Looks AWSOME!! :yesnod:
